A Message from the Fire Chief

Dear Residents of Girard,

On behalf of the members of the Girard Fire Department, I am proud to welcome you to our website and to share a little about our agency and our commitment to the community we serve.

The Girard Fire Department is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the residents of Girard through fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, fire prevention, public education, and other emergency services. Our members are highly trained professionals who take great pride in serving our community and being there when our residents need us most.

Our primary goal is simple: to provide prompt, professional, and compassionate care to every resident and visitor we serve. Whether responding to a fire, medical emergency, accident, or other call for assistance, we understand that every second matters and every person deserves the highest quality of care.

We are honored to serve the residents of this fine community and remain committed to maintaining the trust you place in us. We will continue to work hard each day to ensure that the Girard Fire Department is prepared to meet the needs of our community- today and into the future.

Thank you for your continued support of the Girard Fire Department. It is a privilege to serve you.

Respectfully,
James A. Petruzzi
Fire Chief

Wireless Emergency Notification System (WENS)

Monthly test of Trumbull County emergency alert system is the 1st Saturday of each month at noon

The City of Girard, in conjunction with the Trumbull County EMA is happy to introduce a new tool for the residents of the City of Girard in order to always remain “Weather Aware”

The Trumbull County EMA has partnered with WENS technology in order to bring you the most up to date severe weather warnings that may affect our county. We have chosen to only provide weather “warnings” at this time for the fear of residents becoming complacent if they receive notifications constantly.

In addition to the severe weather alerts, you will have the option to sign up for alerts for your local city, village or township. These alerts will be for items such as road closures, boil alerts, or evacuation procedures in the case of an emergency. Alerts that specifically pertain to the City of Girard are typically sent out in real time by local emergency responders.

Please use the QR code listed or
visit https://entry.inspironlogistics.com/Trumbull_oh/wens.cfm

to sign up to receive emergency notifications on your cell phone, home phone or email.
As always feel free to contact our office if you have any questions.
